Understanding and Supporting Grief, Loss and Bereavement
Children and young people are often severely impacted by grief and loss. This course will help you effectively support those in need.
Grief is a part of everyone’s life at some stage and is one of life’s major events. As we grow we learn strategies for coping with grief when it occurs; when we are young, we are often largely dependent on the adults around us for the emotional support we need to cope with this difficult time.
Children and young people are often severely impacted by grief and loss in a wide range of ways. This training day is intended to increase confidence in professionals and carers to effectively support those in need.
By the end of the day, participants will:
- Understand the stages and processes of grief
- Explore the blocks to recovery
- Understand behaviours associated with grief and loss
- Develop skills needed to support those experiencing grief
